The meaning of Brand Extension
Brand extension means the strategy which the brand that have high brand quality use brand’s name of new product which belongs to different category. In this regard, the most important concept is brand that has high brand quality have to be extension’s target and extension should belongs to other category
. Extensions from “high brand” to other category is meaningful as prerequisite to make brand extension’s chances for success high,. And By limiting brand extension meaning to “other family” , it can prevent error that can occur in the strategy practice by understanding broad range of brand extension. ‘Line extension’ can be confused meaning with the concept of brand extension.
